Can’t thank condor888000 and my brother enough for the help today. We finished bolting the bar into the car and also managed to install the Flyin’ Miata Frame Rails. Yes, Ginger feels different — her suspension is working more and her structure is twisting less.
As some of you know, I’ve been working very hard to bring out pedwar’s inner autocrosser and the project is coming along. Not only did ped get her MCO membership card a couple of weeks ago, but she’s started pointing out the odd car, mock-slaloming when driving quiet streets, and being extra aggressive on corners. Most recently, she agreed to register for the MCO driving school and tonight, we ordered her a helmet. Should be here in a few days. It looks even better close-up.
This past Friday night marked the final episode in what we’ve come to regard as one of the best shows ever broadcast on television. This is serious praise given the regard in which we hold other brilliant series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and The X-Files. (more…)
Francis made-up for bailing on me last week by coming over and helping me with the installation of my Hard Dog Hard Core M2 Hardtop Double-Diagonal (dare ya to say that three times) roll-bar today. We managed to trim the parcel tray, remove the ABS wires, and place the bar into the car!
We stopped there however as I still need to pick up the mounting hardware from the bar’s previous owner — hopefully, we’ll get that done this week. In the meantime, I need to pick up a 3/4″ hole saw to reroute the ABS wiring, and make a new 1/4″ hole for the evap system vent. While at the store, I’ll also be picking up some rust inhibitor spray to protect the new holes that I’ll be punching into the MSM.
I hope to complete the work within a week or two at most.
The second time seeing this Brazilian dance company, I was not disappointed.
seven or eight pieces for a Ballet and Breu were about as different as it is possible for a dance company to perform, yet the dancers brought these two pieces to life and danced them with grace, agility and sensuality. (more…)
My last post was for Midsummer Night’s Dream by Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, a little over a year ago. To bring this site up to date, since then, we’ve been to the Cirque du Soleil’s Corteo,Estampas Portenas’s Tango Fire, Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo (not to be confused with Les Ballet de Monte Carlo mentioned above), and the SYTYCD Top Ten Tour. (more…)
I’ve hit a couple of snags with the brakes in that the rear callipers were not behaving as they should: The pistons are supposed to retract when one turns a small adjustment gear in the rear calliper, but mine refused to retract. They (more…)
Tonight, I managed to pull out the seats, seat belts, parcel tray carpet, side sills, centre console, and shifter. As expected the inner shift boot was torn so that will have to be replaced. While my shifter bushing hadn’t come off, I think I’ll add the 20mm x 2mm washer that many have used to sharpen the shifts on the MSM.
When Francis bailed on me 50 minutes before we were supposed to start, pedwar stepped-up and volunteered to be my brake bleeding buddy. The process went smoothly and the car now stops reliably. However, I think there is still some work to do as the pedal is long. At any rate, the car is home in our small, but clean, garage along with all of my tools so I’ll be able to work at a more reasonable pace from here on in. I hope to have the brakes sorted and the interior strip started this weekend.
