Miraculously, my order shipped from Toronto and was avaiable for pick-up at No Limits Auto Parts on Friday after work. Immediately upon arriving home, I installed the calliper and began adjusting the e-brake. Ped then helped me (more…)
Last night, I managed to trim the carpet on the parcel shelf and reinstall the windblocker, albeit at a funny angle that accomodates the bulk of the roll bar. I also torqued down the seat bolts the seat belt anchor points (safety first!). However, all is not perfect. (more…)
I opened up the boxes today and it was clear why they cost sooo much less than the local options: they don’t include the mounting bracket or the slider pins. This makes it less of a deal, but at that same time, my slider pins and brackets are perfectly fine.

We’re home. It was fun getting away and everything went to plan. We got to Toronto on schedule, visited the Toronto Zoo on Thursday, had two really nice dinners on Wednesday and Thursday, and drove home today with a stop in Ogdensburg, NY to pick-up the Flyin’ Miata anti-roll bars, AutoZone callipers, and trim bits from partsgroup.com. It’s good to be home. We missed Mulder and Bobo.
Yes, I’m a little single-minded right now, but can you blame me? After getting Ginger home with her new roll bar and frame rails, I set about torquing the roll bar’s bolts to the recommended range (35 – 40 ft-lbs), but as would be my luck, one bolt stripped badly. (more…)
