While I stood in line at registration back in August 2008 for my first ever autocross event, I was pretty sure I was going to like this driving quickly through cones thing, but I never imagined that first day among the cones was going to be the gateway it has since proved to be. I never thought that within three months of that first event that I would own a second car and that I would be purchasing it primarily to be an autocross toy. It was our first time to an MCO banquet and we picked a good one — the Club’s 60th Anniversary Bash. There were race cars on display, racing sims set-up, and tons of MCO members from all disciplines.

We sat with Don, his wife Marilyn, and J-P at a table with a few other folks I didn’t know. The conversation was good, the food was great, and the atmosphere was fun an relaxing. Then the awards came! (more…)

October 17th was our 11th wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a weekend-long excursion to the Kingston/Prince Edward County region that culminated in a day of driving adventures. (more…)

Just one week after the mechanical issues at Picton, Ginger was back in action at CADL’s second event at PMG in Blainville, Quebec. This time though, the event would also decide the 2009 Interprovincial Cup (IPC). (more…)

What’ s there to say? Awesome day, with tons of runs on a great course. I did great in the AM — closest to FTD ever — but struggled in the PM, when we ran the course in the opposite direction.

condor888000 also drove Ginger and he was giggling like a little girl. At the end of his first run, he offered to buy Ginger from me!

We just got back from our first “test trip” in Ginger during which we explored the twisty roads of New York State’s Adirondack Park, staying one night in picturesque (and rather posh) Lake Placid, at the local Best Western. We logged approximately 980 km in 1.5 days of driving, which brings me to the meaning of “test trip.” Essentially, we wanted to see if we could be comfortable in Ginger’s cozy confines for the hours of driving that would be required if we were to use her, instead of Zhaan, when we take a trip to Cape Breton and Newfoundland & Labrador (more…)
