About a week ago, our coffeemaker died. It started by stopping mid-brew, but could be coaxed to finish. Then the coaxing ceased to work. If you know us, you know we love our coffee (well me more than pedwar, but anyway), so the hunt began.

After a bit of research, we settled on the now discontinued DeLonghi DCM900. We found the last three units at Home Outfitters at a pretty decent discount ($79.99). The first one I brought home had some damage, but the exchange unit was in good shape.

Setting it up at home took a little rearranging because the unit’s height forces it to be pulled out from under the upper cabinets in order to open the access doors to the grounds and the water tank.

It’s first brew was a resounding success and it looks damn cool, too. As ped has said before, I am a GEEK.

Hope you enjoyed today’s funny, WTD 284!
