During Dad’s third week in the hospital, he made some significant improvements
Dad improved physically last week, as he recovered from the pneumonia. He gained some strength and now is managing his walker again, with help, for very short distances. He is easily confused, his short-term memory vanishes quickly, and his long-term memory is mostly lost even with prompting. He does still recognize family and seems calmer [...]
The doctor gave the OK to send Mom home yesterday, and so she’s back with Dad.
Yaayyy, Mom is feeling so much better. After a couple of scares, she’s now well on the road to full recovery.
Mom’s surgery went well, the doctor says, on the four hernias (two large and two small) she had.
We took off for the cottage on Friday night to spend the night and the day on Saturday with my parents as the weather forecast was actually looking promising for once. When we got there I made the first of two interesting, at least to me, discoveries.
