On the way to pedwar’s parents’ new place today, I spotted something mysterious several blocks ahead of us.I wasn’t sure what it was, but it looked intriguing so I tried to move us forward in the line of cars to get a better look. Unfortunately, we were carrying an old, fragile mirror so there was no slice and dice.

As we got closer, I thought it was just a Boxster with its top down, but it seemed too wide to be a Boxster, even with upgraded tires and rims, so I pushed on. As we got closer, I upgraded my guess to a 911 with its top down, but the cowl looked wrong, so I pushed on until finally being greeted by…

The dual exhausts, dual roll-hoops and wind deflectors of, wait for it, a Porsche Carrera GT! Yes, amazingly enough, sleepy Ottawa has reached the point where there are people with the resources necessary to acquire one of these $440,000USD super-cars. Only 1,270 of these works of art were ever built, with only 604 units coming to North America, so to catch a glimpse of one in the wild here in Ottawa is truly shocking, particularly when the plate frame confirmed that it was bought here in town.

The driver turned off of Beechwood onto one of New Edinburgh’s posh streets, so the guy must truly have it all. For the rest of us, all we can do is drool over footage of this truly spectacular machine.
