Overview
For more than two decades at Canada Post — as a supervisor, communications officer, product manager, and team leader — I was involved in writing, proofreading and editing industry-acclaimed award-winning publications, as well as articles, reports, speeches, executive correspondence, and more.
For much of this time, I oversaw all aspects of publications production, in many cases as a sole managing editor, working closely with the internal graphic design group and with external printing and mailing suppliers.
In my communications role, I also provided specialized advice to internal clients on various topics, and I shared in an internal Communications Excellence team award following the anthrax scare in 2001/2. I developed intranet content, and I received a Communications Excellence solo award for creating a forum for employees to discuss workplace topics in 2001.
In recent years, I worked closely with the company’s web team overseeing content development on the stamp collector section of Canada Post’s website, as well as its online store.
Most recently, I volunteered to create and build a new website at www.bytownchapter.com for the local chapter of the Heritage Club. Members of the club are long-service and retired employees of Canada Post.
